Why is it important to name a window and what does this affect?

Answer

The name of a window is user defined; basically you can can name it anything that you want. The name of the window should be descriptive about the kind of information that the window will store. Company, person, note, login are all possible names for windows. Of course a user may also create new windows.

The names of windows can appear in several places including: data entry tab sheet, search results window and the hard folder control. As always, a user can change the name of a window at any time by opening the window in the template layout tab sheet. See the help file documentation for more information.

The terms window and template are often used interchangeably.
